Information about treating cannabis dependence is sparse. About 1 in 5 is abstinent without intervention, mainly in short-term studies.

A single Cochrane review of various psychotherapeutic interventions had information relevant to cannabis dependence.

Results
There were four studies, three of which were relatively short term, and one longer term. There were various psychosocial interventions, and it was not possible to draw any real conclusions. Over all the interventions, mostly short term, the abstinence rate was 18% in 1,004 patients.
