5 th London Workshop on Teaching Evidence-Based Health Care

This annual event is aimed at doctors, nurses, professionals allied to medicine, and senior non-clinical staff, who wish to improve their understanding of evidence-based health care and learn to teach others more effectively in the clinical, academic or service environment. Delegates from primary care, secondary care and public health will benefit.

How to practice EBM

This workshop is organised by the Centre for Evidence-based Medicine in Oxford, and takes place on April 16-19. It is designed to help clinicians and others develop skills in EB practice, with particular emphasis on forming clinical questions, finding the evidence and critical appraisal.

Writing systematic reviews in pain

This course is for people who want to do systematic reviews in which pain is an outcome. It takes place in Harris Manchester College, Oxford, on 23/24 March 2000. The course is intensive, and covers issues specific to pain trials, as well as material generic to systematic reviews. It is organised by the Cochrane PaPaS group and IASP special interest group. Support for people from less developed countries may be available.

Towards clinical governance

This one day conference is concerned with the primary care clinical effectiveness project (PRICCE), a successful large implementation project in 14 disease areas. The conference takes place in Canterbury on February 17, and is free to NHS employees.
